Xombie has a record of success; in October 2009, the vehicle won the $150,000 second prize in NASA's Lunar Lander Challenge, which sought to spur the development of private spaceships and their flight software.

The FDA does regulate manual and electric toothbrushes.
Susan Runner, a dentist who is chief of the FDA’s dental services branch, said although these devices can be helpful in removing plaque and preventing decay, they can be hazardous – and if children are using them, they should always be supervised.
The FDA is alerting the public about the potential for injury while using the following models of Spinbrush:

With Valentine’s Day at hand, it may seem an odd time to reflect on love gone overboard, into obsession, but to be honest, I was never much for Hallmark cards.
Genuine, balanced romance and over-the-top addictive attachment actually have the same chief ingredient: the object of the emotion has to trigger core, deeply-rooted psychological dynamics in the person who feels it. These dynamics often reach back to childhood; they’re loose ends that the object of love seems to tie into a neat bow.
So often, people who were unsure that a parent would remain committed to them, or remain living at home, will choose partners who are faithful and predictable—sometimes even to the point of being unexciting. A woman who moved frequently will marry the boy next door. A man who had an intrusive, emotionally absorbing mother will marry an emotionally distant woman.
We commonly seek to balance the disequilibrium from the past with an equal and opposite force in the present. This can create difficulties in people who are psychologically stable—when feelings of monotony or isolation or lack of stability set in—but in people who are psychologically unstable it can set the stage for extremely intense feelings that are only sparked by the love object, then turn into a bonfire that has nothing to do with that person and can even destroy him or her.

Keeping your hormones in balance
Hormones regulate hundreds of different functions in your body, but many people don’t realize how interconnected hormones are in all our body’s systems.
I found out the hard way when I had my hysterectomy. I went from full hormones one day to zero hormones the next. It affected my entire body – I was tired, depressed, lethargic, and I couldn’t think clearly. Everything was messed up. That’s when I decided I needed to learn more about how hormones work and what they can do.
Most of us have heard of the “sex” hormones– estrogen for women and testosterone for men. But did you know that men and women both have both sex hormones, just in different amounts? Estrogen and testosterone are used in so many ways in addition to regulating our sexual function.
Yes, for women, hormones like estrogen and progesterone regulate our monthly cycle. They take care of the uterus and help protect a baby while it develops. But estrogen also provides protection for your heart. The American Heart Association says that during our childbearing years, we women are at lower risk of heart disease than men because of our higher levels of estrogen.
But what about when we start to get out of balance? When we get closer to menopause, our estrogen levels start to drop and our risk of heart disease starts to climb.
Then we get to cholesterol. Too much “bad cholesterol” (LDL) can have a negative effect on our blood vessels and hearts. Estrogen increases HDL (good cholesterol), which helps counterbalance LDL. So when our estrogen is low, we don’t have as much good HDL and our bad LDL cholesterol can get out of control. That’s one reason why women who have never had high cholesterol get close to menopause and suddenly find themselves with high levels of LDL. (American Heart Association)
And it’s not just estrogen that can cause heart problems. The thyroid gland acts like a barometer for the body. Thyroid hormone interacts with all the other hormones to help keep them in balance. According to the Hormone Foundation, if your thyroid level is off, many other systems in your body may be off as well, including your heart function.
So what’s the point of all of this? It comes back to balance. If my doctor suddenly tells me that my cholesterol is high and I need medication, it probably means something has changed and that something could be my hormones. So I might ask the doctor if he checked my hormone levels when he checked my cholesterol. Then there’s the question of diet. What did I eat before I had the cholesterol test – and not just that morning? Did I eat something a day or two earlier that might have bumped up my cholesterol – like a big bowl of ice cream? If I did, that test might not have been accurate.
I know that if my cholesterol is high, I need to get it back under control. I need a plan to eat better or exercise more. And for me, since I don’t have the ability to produce my own hormones, I may need to get my hormones regulated to get everything back in balance. The important thing to remember is that the choice is mine. I don’t have to just take the pills the doctor hands me. I can be my own health advocate and push to learn how my body works. If something is out of balance, I want to find a real solution, not just take a pill to fix the symptoms
So that’s my advice to you. Don’t ignore your body or your hormones and hope they will balance themselves out on their own. Get the information you need to make an informed decision about what is best for your body – whether that means hormone replacement for you or not.

Reports: Media Matters head coordinates with White House, builds super PAC
The head of Media Matters for America -- now out coordinating a new super PAC to help President Obama get reelected -- is operating his nonprofit organization in close coordination with the Obama White House, a new investigative report out Monday says.David Brock, according to the Daily Caller, has collected a $250,000 annual salary for his work at MMFA, which includes daily screeds against Fox News Channel and other media outlets that allow conservative perspectives in their reporting.

Brock's group, founded in 2004, is spending $20 million this year in a campaign to influence news coverage that sheds a positive image on the current administration as well as progressives and lawmakers in Congress. And the campaign is going well, according to a former employee who told the DC that "virtually all the mainstream media" has used Media Matters' research."We were pretty much writing their prime time," the ex-employee was quoted saying of MSNBC.Brock is also the head of American Bridge 21st Century, the political action committee that he has boasted would become a rival to Karl Rove's American Crossroads GPS. Last week, the Obama reelection team dropped its objections to the use of super PACs, saying that the organizations are needed to compete against groups that are supporting Republican candidates. American Bridge 21st Century and Media Matters share many of the same donors, according to Roll Call, which reported on Monday that the PAC raised $3.7 million from fewer than 50 individual donors and unions last year. Its sister nonprofit group, American Bridge 21st Century Foundation, raised an additional $2.7 million last year, and gave $223,000 of that money, which is not required to be reported, to the super PAC.Roll Call added that Media Matters, which is classified as a nonprofit organization, raised $13.2 million in 2010, up from $6.7 million the year before, as reported in its most recent IRS filings.While MMFA raises millions, the DC reports that the organization is in "regular contact with political operatives" in the Obama administration like senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, whom MMFA President Eric Burns and Brock met with in June 2010 at the White House.
